Hollókő - Easter Trip by ELB / 6th of April

The famous UNESCO World Heritage village, Hollókő hosts the biggest Easter festivities of Hungary: Folklore programs, show and costumes, gastronomy, traditions, the inevitable water pouring, concerts and programs await the visitors. The charming village features typical peasant houses and cobblestone roads.

► PROGRAM: - Meeting at 08:00 - 10:00 arrival to Hollókő, participating in the programs - From 10:00, The "big" Easter Sprinkling Show: Water sprinkling is one of the most popular Hungarian - 11:45 Easter Sprinkling at the Church - 11:55 Easter Sprinkling at the lower Well - Easter traditions, practiced mostly at the countryside. On Easter Monday, boys are allowed to sprinkle girls with water, as the metaphor of ladies being beautiful flowers who should not fade - traditionally, a bucket of water is poured on them (or perfume more recently)! - Folk Dance Group performances - Songs and dances - Folk concerts - Food & wine - 16:00 Hiking tour: visit of the medieval Hollókő castle (optional) - 17:30 Palm of God viewpoint hike- Hand-shaped watchtower 🌅 - 19:00 Departure back to Budapest - Arrival back to Budapest around 20:30.

► TICKETS 🎟 - ONLINE: - In the ELB front office at 📍The Erasmus Life Budapest front office is open Monday-Wednesday-Thursday, 12:00-18:00 (Closed on Public Holidays!). Location: Doboz (Klauzál utca 10., Budapest 1072).

► Price doesn’t include: - Entry to the Hollókő Castle ~ optional program, can be purchased at the office (2000 HUF - student ticket) - Entry to the Easter Festival (6500 HUF) -> you can reserve the entrance at the office when you buy your ticket.
