A világ egyik legnagyobb és rögbiben leghíresebb egyeteme, a Cambridge University rögbi csapata 2024-ben újra Budapesten játszik. Centenáriumi esemény lesz ez, hiszen mintegy 100 esztendeje 1912 húsvétján éppen a Cambridge-i egyetem csapata vívta a valaha volt legelső rögbimérkőzést Magyarországon. 
100 évvel később 2024-ben az Albert Kupa következik.
A kupát az egykori cambridge-i diák, a Nobel-díjas tudós, Szentgyörgyi Albert iránti tiszteletből alapították. Szentgyörgyi Albert rendkívül kalandos, regénybe illő fordulatokkal, izgalmas és hősies élethelyzetekkel teli életútja példakép minden sportoló számára. 
A Cambridge-i egyetemen 1927-ében doktorált, a kémia tudományok professzora lett. 
Tudományos munkájának csúcsa a C-vitamin felfedezése, amit a Szegedi Tudományegyetemen végzett kutatása tett lehetővé, és amiért az 1937-ben Nobel-díjat is kapott.

The Cambridge University rugby team, one of the world's largest and most famous universities in rugby, will play in Budapest again in 2024. This will be a centenary event, since about 100 years ago, on Easter 1912, the Cambridge University team played the very first rugby match in Hungary.

The cup was founded out of respect for former Cambridge student and Nobel Prize-winning scientist Albert Szentgyörgyi. Albert Szentgyörgyi's extremely adventurous life journey, full of novel twists and exciting and heroic life situations, is a role model for all athletes. 
He received his doctorate at the University of Cambridge in 1927 and became a professor of chemical sciences. The pinnacle of his scientific work was the discovery of vitamin C, which was made possible by his research at the University of Szeged, and for which he received the Nobel Prize in 1937.
