The Secret Library

Télen azonban néhány különleges estén a könyvtár átváltozik.

A termek fényei elhalványulnak, majd több ezer gyertya meleg ragyogása fut végig a patinás faburkolatokon, a galériákon és a régi könyvek gerincén. A monumentális tér ilyenkor egészen más arcát mutatja: intimebbé, titokzatosabbá és szinte időtlenné válik.

És ekkor megszólal a zene.

A Secret Library estéről estére más világba vezeti vendégeit.

Hidden away from the noise of the city, in the heart of Budapest, lies a centuries-old library where countless stories and secrets rest between towering shelves.

For most of the year, silence fills its halls. But on a few special winter evenings, the library transforms.

The lights begin to fade, and the warm glow of thousands of candles spreads across the dark wood panelling, the galleries, and the spines of ancient books. The monumental space takes on an entirely different character — intimate, mysterious and almost timeless.

And then, the music begins.

Each Secret Library evening opens the door to a different world. Changing musical themes, classical and contemporary works, film music, intimate chamber performances, as well as cultural and artistic programmes come to life within the historic walls.

Every evening tells a different story, while the magic of the setting remains the same.

Secret Library is not a set, nor is it an ordinary concert venue. It is a real, centuries-old library in one of Budapest’s most remarkable historic spaces, opening its doors on these special evenings to only a limited number of guests.

Step into the world hidden behind the books and discover which story will come to life next at Secret Library.
